When creating an account, this forum host forces you to choose Male or Female. Don't even worry about that field. Flip a coin or click one randomly. That field has been removed from this forum's profiles and I added a custom Gender field if you do want to have your gender show.
Please take your time to go through the rules and guides before creating a character.
You can find a list of all the Character Guides in the top navigation bar under the Help button.
Since this is considered a community there will be regulations to keep things civil.
- Images that could be sensitive MUST be under a spoiler with proper warnings.
- Do not post anything pornographic on the forums.
- Avoid bringing irl politics into the forum or discord discussion!
- Keep memes clean and inoffensive. Offensive means anything that targets a minority group negatively.
- If any member or staff asks you to put an image under a spoiler, do not argue, it is not hard to say "ok" and respect other's comfort.
- If the current topic in a discord channel or on the forums upsets you, but is not against the rules, please try moving to a different thread or channel. If you cannot, like if it is in Voice Chat, please try changing the subject or ask politely to talk about something else.
- That said, please refrain from policing little things as if you were a mod. Instead, message a staff member in DM if it really is causing problems. Avoid becoming a part of the problem yourself. (little things include spelling and grammar, everyone has different skills and talents. Spelling and Grammar is not everyone's forte)
- With that said. Politely reminding others of the rule or guide content is ok, just do not be harsh or enforce it yourself.
- Do not insult or bad mouth any member or staff out of character. Especially in a public chat.
- If you have a problem with a member or staff, take it to DM or report them. No need to make personal issues public.
- Any abusive or threatening behavior is not tolerated. This is to be reported to a mod or admin right away.
- Same goes for if someone posts something offensive towards a minority group. Please simple report it instead of engaging in it. Engaging can cause flame wars.
- No not make the fact that you reported someone public or even DM them it! Reporters are meant to be anonymous.
- Please do not advertise on these forums or in the discord! If you wish to be affiliated please ask directly.
Of course individual characters can be diverse and have offensive/prejudice attitudes, but it is not to be present in the ooc community discussions. We accept differences here, not bash them or shame them publicly.
If you need a post moved or deleted, please report the post to notify staff about it.
- You are allowed 2 characters upon profile creation.
- You can have more characters after each month of active roleplay (max is 6)
- Each character can be in no more than two active site canon roleplays at a time (excluding event rps)
- If a thread is dead or you no longer want to be in it, you can ask others involved if you can leave. You can still get exp and stuff if you leave, but you must post your grade post with the others. (That said, please make sure everyone who was involved is notified when the thread has ended)
- If you are tired of a character you can request for them to be killed.
- No Godmoding- Players are to not control the actions of another player that is not theirs. If they are not a narrator they are not to control the environment that they interact with either. If you must include an environment or character reaction in your reply that has not yet happened, please communicate with your roleplay partner(s) before including the reaction.
- No Metagaming- You character only knows what they have roleplayed or what has been communicated with the others involved. Do not bring in outside knowledge that your character would not know into play.
- Try to avoid 4th wall breaking. Mistakes happen and you might accidentally misname a character by using the user's name, but try to avoid this.
- Avoid post editing! Please try to go over your reply for typos and such before sending it. Reply edits can get confusing and worry others that something major may have changed. If the typo is not major there is not need to edit. However, if the typo changes the meaning of the reply or if you missed something and your actions don't make sense; talk it over with your roleplay partner(s) to ask them if you can edit your post.
- Number of users roleplaying together in Site Canon must be at least 2 and at most 4 (excluding invaders). You cannot roleplay with yourself. This is also to avoid confusingly long roleplay threads and confusing and long grading.
- Please keep you roleplay posts in 3rd person narrative and in past tense.
- To keep things organized and to prevent paradoxes, the date the thread started on is the date the roleplay started. However, if it is a multi-part mission, the date the entire mission started is on the date of the fist part's post! Please refer to the State of the World thread in Plot to see a rundown of how the site's time line works.
Communication is key when it comes to roleplaying. If you are unsure about something, talk about it with the other(s) involved. If a person's reply does not match what has happened, talk about it with them privately. No need to make their mistake public. If they continue to disregard the events in a roleplay ask a staff member to look it over and talk to the user.
Posting order is very important and should be established in roleplays involving multiple people. Unless stated otherwise. Some threads may not have an order or may have some other thread specific rule.
Post order can only be broken if it is first discussed out of character with everyone involved.
If someone has not posted in a week, without notice, they can be skipped or replaced. This includes if the user has left for any reason. If the user has just been inactive without notice, the narrator of the thread can say they left the scene or whatever makes sense. A character can be killed in the narration only with the user's permission.
Thread invasions are completely possible, but only under certain circumstances.
- If the bounty of at least one character is above 10,000 they can be targeted by bounty hunters and pro heroes. These characters are recognized as wanted criminals.
- If infamy of at least one character is above 20 they might be recognized as a trouble maker, and threads they are involved in can be invaded by anyone. (Please refer to the Fame and Infamy thread to determine if your character can recognize another)
- Invading a thread takes up a roleplay slot for your character.
- Only 2 users can invade a thread at one time! And a max total of 3 users can invade a thread in general.
- Please as the people involved before invading.
